W4O's mission is to promote our human diversity as key driver for accelerating ocean health. A first step to achieving this is to lift the one half of the population that is still underrepresented in almost every aspect of ocean governance, industry, science and conservation - women. Our W4O database helps us achieve greater visibility for women everywhere.
Everyone can become a W4O Supporter! There are many ways you can show support for our mission. Here are some ideas:
- Make a donation, so we can support women working for the ocean*
- Spread the word in your community,
- Encourage women you know who work for the ocean to add themselves to our database
- Find a woman working for the ocean near you and support their work
- Next time you are at a conference, meeting or networking event, play the W4O Gender Balance Bingo
- Buy a T-shirt and wear your support for W4O!
- Subscribe to our mailing list so you can stay up to date on our latest news
- Collect donations for W4O by organising beach cleanups, or enlisting sponsors for your next challenge (walk, run, cycle)
- Check out our Toolkit and download a poster for example to hang in your communal spaces
- Join the conversation and follow us on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Youtube)
